You are the project.Your body. Your mind. Your life. This is what you're building.Everything, everything, you do counts. Every book you read, every weight you lift, every hour you spend working. It all shapes you, and how you do it matters. Never forget: The work works on you more than you work on it. The potter thinks he's forming the clay when really the clay is forming him.Honor this life you were given. A body that heals. A mind that learns. A spirit that can build towers and bridges and rockets out of nothing but vision and resolve. Impossible machinery, placed in your hands. Give it your full attention. Pour everything through it. Play until your lungs hurt and your fingers ache. Play until the music stops coming and the instrument sits warm in your lap, worn smooth by someone who understood what they were holding.Loosen up. Take more risk. Make more mistakes. Travel lighter. Chase the thing your hands reach for when your mind is not supervising. Stop being so sensible and sane. You may have more actual troubles, but you'll have fewer imaginary ones. And finally: Stay away from big talkers and small doers. This life is best spent in the arena.
1-2 Sundays per month. Always 3 minutes or less.
